3. Arcady Vineyard Bed and Breakfast

Arcady Vineyard Bed and Breakfast offers lodging on 14 beautiful acres of serene tranquility, only six and a half miles from the excitement of the downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. Guests of Arcady Vineyard Bed and Breakfast can wander through our vineyard, watch the deer graze outside your window, and star gaze from your room deck where you will actually see the stars on display on a clear night!

Staying true to the definition of the name (Arcady: an ideal rustic paradise), Arcady Vineyard Bed and Breakfast is a Virginia Wine Country B&B, with special amenities created by wine enthusiasts for wine lovers, as well as history buffs and fans of the great outdoors. We are conveniently located in a cluster of wineries just over two miles from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, and three miles from Monroe’s Highland. 4. Barboursville Vineyard  

The 18th Century estate is a breathtaking space to visit or to stay overnight! The entire estate is open for tasting our wines in a stroll or in a picnic, and our informed and enthusiastic hosts present tastings continuously in the Discovery Tasting Room, every day of the week.   Guests can book a stay at the 1804 Inn.  A classic Georgian villa, The 1804 Inn predates, by a generation, the construction of Governor Barbour’s mansion which it overlooks, and its three suites are expansive and luxurious in the most timeless way.  

The 18th Century Vineyard Cottage, originally constructed for domestic servants, is one of the oldest dwellings in continuous occupancy at Barboursville and irreplaceably evokes the estate's plantation history. Partitioned into two intimate bedroom/sitting room accommodations, the Vineyard Cottage affords exclusivity, comfort and seclusion, within strolling proximity to the historic landmark Ruins, the Tasting Room, and Palladio Restaurant.  


A gardener's cottage from the estate's sheep-grazing days in the 20th Century, the Sangiovese Cottage offers the scale and facilities to accommodate longer stays, in quiet comfort and seclusion for a single couple, within strolling proximity to the historic landmark Ruins, the Tasting Room, and Palladio Restaurant.


A 19th Century frame residence and dispensary for a physician and his family, the Blue Run Cottage was then our winemaker’s house for 30 years, and now offers three distinctive suites of great comfort and serenity, situated deeply within the estate and with close proximity to the vines.  Guests cannot go wrong with booking any of these accommodations as they are exceptionally well furnished and comfortable.   Guests will enjoy the Palladio restaurant which is a perfect mix of Italian dining and Virginia influences.  Rates vary from 240-500 a night to stay at the beautiful accommodations.

5. Beliveau Estate Winery

A visit to Beliveau Farm is an opportunity to awaken your senses. The serene beauty of the property, the soft chatter of birds, the clean and green 165 acres, the exquisite flavors of fresh grapes turned into fine wine - allow you to get in touch with nature and it’s bounty.

Beliveau Farm is a boutique Virginia winery located on the edge of Montgomery County just 12 miles from downtown Blacksburg. Since 2018 the 13 acres of vines have supplied one hundred percent of the grapes used in our wines, which are all handcrafted, produced, and bottled on-site. 6. Burnley Vineyards

Burnley  Vineyards is one of the oldest vineyards in the Monticello Viticultural area. Burnley Vinyards is strictly a family operation. Burnley is still planting grapes and will continue until the planned production of 12,000 to 15,000 cases is reached. The vineyard offers tastings and banquet rooms overlooking the heart of Virginia countryside.

Guests and visitors can rent Fernando's Hideaway,  Burnley Vineyards Guest House for overnight stays. A fully furnished house, complete with air conditioning, heat, and

7. Cardinal Point Winery

Established by Paul and Ruth Gorman in 1985, the family farm at Cardinal Point lies in the rural foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Over the years Gorman has expanded the vineyard to 15 acres, focusing on a range of Vitis vinifera vines. They are open 7 days a week for tastings from 11 am to 5:30 pm. A renovated 19th century gem, the Cardinal Point Farmhouse is the centerpiece of our family farm, perched above the winery in Afton, Virginia makes a perfect place to stay and relax.

With impressive, unimpeded views of the Blue Ridge Mountains you and your guests will have a real taste of the Virginia farm winery life. 8. Chisholm Vineyards at Adventure Farm

In 2005, owners of the Chisolm beef farm decided to try their hand at grapes.  Early harvests were sold to local winemakers who had great success with the Adventure Farm grapes in making award-winning wines. In 2012, the first vintages of Chardonnay and Gigi Red Blend were made with Adventure Farm grapes under the Adventure Farm label. Today, the vineyard consists of 14+ acres and 8 varietals.In our Tasting Room, we offer fourteen small-lot, award-winning, 100% estate-grown delicious wines. Open Fridays through Sundays year-round.  Seasonal events include live music and food trucks as well as other special events.  .

9. Delfosse Vineyards & Winery

Delfosse Vineyards & Winery Nestled in a quiet valley at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Delfosse Vineyards and Winery in Faber, Virginia invites you to come explore. Delfosse Vineyards and Winery was established in 2000 in the Monticello AVA wine region. The location is exquisite, hugged between the hills, but with the elevation to guarantee not only flavorful wine but also breathtaking views. A brief thirty-minute drive from Charlottesville and the historic downtown will lead you to our scenic location where you can experience the solitude of the Virginia countryside.

Treat yourself to a weekend or a week of relaxation in a peaceful setting at the Log Cabin, overlooking the lake, the terraced vineyards, and the winery. The log cabin originally dates back to 1870 and was carefully restored in 2005 with an eye to historical accuracy, using the same tools and materials that would have been employed by the original builder. Initially used as the tasting room for the winery, it was completely remodeled inside and out.

Enjoy award-winning wines on the large deck with a wine bar and a beautiful patio. The views are gorgeous and the setting is very quiet and peaceful. The inside is fully functional and includes a large bathroom with shower, full kitchen, a living room with fireplace, and a bedroom upstairs. 10. Eastwood Farm and Winery

Eastwood Farm and Winery is located in Charlottesville, Virginia. With 77 acres of rolling hills, mountain views, apple and pear orchards, raspberry vines and enchanted forests, the farm is waiting for you to plan a visit and enjoy the natural beauty all around it.  The tasting room at Eastwood Farm and Winery is open daily and guests will love the lunch menu speicals and winery picnics.  Grab a drink at the beautiful terrace bar and find a great food truck on the weekends too!   Enjoy our award-winning wines, beers, and ciders by the glass or in a tasting. 11. Glass House Winery Bed and Breakfast

Glass House Winery was founded in 2006, bringing a tropical flair to the Monticello Wine Trail. The vineyard features carefully grown and cultivated grapes that reflect the best of the terroir in central Virginia. From artisan wines to handcrafted chocolates, Glass House offers a unique experience to those wishing to experience the Virginia wine culture.

Sundays also feature popular live music events with local artists. We now have 15 acres under vine on our vineyard and have chosen grapes that bring out the best of the terroir in our region of Virginia. 12. Hardware Hills Vineyard

Visitors will love this laid back vibe with a tasting room and light fare dining.  The vineyard has plenty of wine options available to taste and for purchase and there is something for everyone's taste buds waiting!

Guests can stay overnight and soak in all the fun The Cottage at Hardware Hills has to offer with this winery lodging and accommodations. Guests can enjoy a porch-front view of the vines. The cottage is a one bedroom, one bath quaint house with a cozy living area complete with a wood-burning fireplace stove.  The kitchen is fully functional with stove, oven, coffee pot, microwave, and fully stocked dishware and cookware. 13. Meriwether Springs Vineyard & Brewery Bed and Breakfast

Meriwether Springs is the area’s first combination winery and brewery.About a mile from the town of Ivy and minutes from the University of Virginia and downtown. The vineyards are also in the heart of the Monticello Wine Trail and many of the area’s breweries and are adjacent to the picturesque and recreational opportunities afforded by the Blue Ridge Mountains.

On 40 beautiful and private acres, including a five acre vineyard, Meriwether Springs is a sanctuary of natural beauty. The vineyard sits on the original estate of the famed explorer, Meriwether Lewis, who was commissioned by Thomas Jefferson in 1804 to lead an exploration across the recently acquired Louisiana Territory and into the uncharted lands far beyond.  One of the original family springhouses remains undisturbed and accessible along a very short walking path from the property’s main building.

14. Mount Ida Farm & Vineyard

The vineyards at Mount Ida Reserve span 27 acres between High Ridge vineyard just over the hill from the Tasting Room to the north and Bell Mount vineyard overlooking historic Mount Ida Manor. 5000-acre s total in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge creates ideal sloped land for growing. During harvest our fruit is picked by hand, never machinery, to preserve the quality of the grapes.

From the small-batch wines to the masterfully constructed event venues, luxury getaway rentals and country estates, Mount Ida Reserve is a destination within Charlottesville. Sample each with a table side tasting. We serve our three rotating seasonal flights seven days a week along with specials by the glass and bottles to share and to go.  The culinary team works with local farmers, growers, and artisan producers to design a creative rotating menu with seasonal ingredients and house made components.

The Tasting Room marries the Charlottesville winery and brewery experience and a full restaurant. Within the Tasting Room you can find cozy fireplaces and fire pit, a deck overlooking the grounds and Blue Ridge view, covered and sunny tables to dine, space to lounge on our lawn and terraces, and an outdoor bar with a look into our brewery and the game always up on the TV. 15. Sharp Rock Vineyards

Sharp Rock Vineyards & Cottages, located on the Hughes River at the foot of Old Rag Mountain, is one of the most beautiful vineyard locations in Virginia.

Taste our the wines, meander through the vineyards, settle at a picnic table or hammock, absorb the exceptional scenery, and sample our gourmet cheeses, bread, and summer sausage.  If you prefer, bring along your picnic lunch and enjoy it in the vineyard or by the river.

Guests will enjoy the Carriage House, a private cottage rental perfect for couples or families.  Includes a complimentary wine tasting and bottle, the cottage is stocked with juices and snacks and coffee and tea and overlooks the beautiful and serene view of the Hughes River and Blue Ridge Mountains.  This carriage house rents for 220 weekend and 200 duringh te week per night. 16. The Hope and Glory Inn

For ten years Dudley and Peggy Patteson, owners of the Hope and Glory, also owned the nearby and acclaimed The Dog and Oyster Vineyard which had been selected by Virginia Tourism as one of their “Ten Best of the Best”. At the end of last year, they saw an opportunity to reposition the vineyard as a micro-vineyard in front of the Hope and Glory Inn. It would be an upscale and elegant setting to savor their wine with oysters especially from local oyster farmers and marry their two passions. While this vineyard is a tad different than the other vineyards on this list, this micro-vineyard is a hit with guests from near and far.  Its been a raving success and you will see why when you visit as well.  

Wine lovers can choose from four of the Dog and Oyster wines. The wines were made by two of the best winemakers in Virginia as acknowledged by The Governor’s Cup and Savor Magazine. TA large paver outdoor patios and a clear span tent was added to protect their wine and oyster guests as they dined al fresca.  

The 1890 historic schoolhouse has transformed into 13 one-of-a-kind bed and breakfast with private cottages.  Each uniquely decorated room reflects the expert tastes and luxurious amenities. We accommodate travelers of all types, from solo adventurers to groups be they corporate retreats, weddings, families, or just friends getting away together. The rates do include a complimentary gourmet picnic box breakfast.

Veritas Vineyard and Winery is one of my favorite wineries to visit year-round and take in the Blue Ridge Mountain views in the heart of Virginia wine country. Sit on the sun-drenched deck and take in the live music or cozy up in an igloo at festive special evenings in the winter and enjoy the fine hospitality coupled with the exquisite Veritas wine quality and enjoy the best view with people you love. No matter when you visit Veritas Vineyard and Winery, the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains will welcome you and have you wanting to stay and sip. 

The Farmhouse at Veritas is a six room bed and breakfast adjacent to Veritas Vineyards and Winery in Afton, Virginia – the heart of the Monticello American Viticulture Area.

Built in July of 1839, The Farmhouse stood as a family home for nearly 200 years when in 2012 it was opened to the public. Its elegance, simplicity, and comfort have withstood the test of time creating the firm foundation of quality and authenticity that the Farmhouse prides itself on today. Since opening its doors, guests near and far have had the opportunity to experience the down-to-earth luxury fostered in this region. Every detail of The Farmhouse from the well-appointed guest rooms to the farm-to-table fine dining, Chef prepared breakfasts and dinners showcase the bounty of Nelson County’s food, scenery, and perhaps most importantly, its wine. This winery is my favorite Virginia winery and I have a feeling you will love it too!

19. Williamsburg Winery and Wedmore Place 

Wedmore Place is a European-style country hotel featuring 28 uniquely designed rooms and suites. Each room is named and patterned after a different province of Europe and is decorated with antiques and paintings to reflect the culture and history of the region.

The view from your window seat or patio chair will be of vineyards in varying stages of growth depending on the season. The wisteria canopy atop our brick patio makes for a splendid outdoor roof that encourages lingering over good food, great wine and the best company.
