What is the best age for the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park?

ANY! ALL! Seriously, there is something for every age group at the Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg water park.  I love that every member of a group or family will have activities at Great Wolf Lodge that are geared towards them.  Parents are not left out either, hop on one of the family friendly tube water slides for

What can younger kids do at the water park?

The Cub Paw Pool is packed with so much fun for the little ones. The deepest part of the Cub Paw Pool is 18 inches.  It is zero depth entry and is packed with three water slides, a play area, a fountain and water cannons.  Watch this video to see highlights of the Cub Paw Pool and other fun parts of the Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg indoor water park.

Is Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg Water Park Indoor or Outdoor Pool?

Both, but since it gets pretty chilly in VA in the winter, the outdoor water park component closes for portions of the year.

What does the Outdoor Pool / Water Park have at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg?

Raccoon Lagoon is Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg’s outdoor water park area that you’ll want to check out if you are there during the warmer months in VA! The Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg outdoor area offers an all-around three-foot, six-inch deep water play area, with fountains and plenty of poolside seating for soaking up the sun. The area is on the smaller side but is a great way to add more fun into your trip when it is open.

What Are the Height Requirements for the Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg Indoor Water Park?

The only requirements at the indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg are for some of the larger slides. You can find specifics on the requirements for each attraction at the water park here.

What are the Dining Options in the Water Park?

  • Buckets Incredible Craveables was a great food option we frequented often while inside of the water park. We got the large size of the meals available (cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets with fries) and shared. We knew the boys would not want to sit down for an entire meal while at the water park so sharing was a great way to get some food in their bodies before they ran off. We also got the refillable cup for 9.99 here and were able to refill around the park during our stay for free. Definitely recommend grabbing this cup while at Great Wolf Lodge. The service was really fast too!

You can also grab food from the restaurants inside of the resort and bring the food into the water park as well.  You can read more about the other restaurant and food options at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg here.

What to Pack When Visiting Great Wolf Lodge Water Park?

I HIGHLY recommend packing multiple bathing suits for each child if you have extras. This way in case your child wants to leave the water park and come back, they have a dry suit to wear! There are bathing suit drying machines in the water park bathrooms that do help pull a lot of water out of the suit, but they will not dry it completely.

A phone protector so you can capture photos and videos without worrying about your phone getting wet! You can order a phone protector like the one here, trust me it’s worth every penny for capturing those fun memories!

Definitely pack your children water shoes or Crocs to wear around the water park and especially when walking to and from bathrooms and food.  I would definitely pack water shoes for your children for the Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg water park. There are plenty of mats on the ground and staff were mopping and keeping the floors as dry as possible, but there is so much traffic! The bathrooms were really slippery and water shoes were so helpful for the kids especially.

I packed goggles just in case my children wanted, and they did not ever use.

Where Can I Put my Items While at the Water Park?

Most families grab a chair or two and stash their items there so you will have somewhere to come back to and have a snack or rest.  There are lockers available for rental.  I would definitely recommend a locker if you are at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg as a day pass.  Many families will utilize their pool or beach bag to claim a few chairs and have a home base to come back to eat and gather!

Cabana Rental Great Wolf Lodge

Cabanas provide a common location for you to come back to that is reserved just for your family.  I do not think that the cabana is necessary unless you are traveling to the indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge during peak times.  I do think if I had a newborn or younger baby that needed to nap, and I was unable to leave the water park that this could be extremely helpful to have a cabana rental because you can close the cabana drapes to create an atmosphere that is less stimulating than a chair / table in the main area.  The cabana can be added to your reservation.

Cabanas include:

  • Four bottles of water

  • Four personal towels to use during your stay

  • Deck of playing cards to use during your stay

  • Safe / TV / mini-fridge

  • Ceiling Fans

What should I pack for the indoor water park at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg?

If you are anything like me and forget necessary items every time your family goes on vacation, then do not worry!  Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg has a gift shop located in the water park with towels, bathing suits, cover ups, goggles and much more.  If you are feeling overwhelmed by what to pack for a Great Wolf Lodge trip, do not worry - these 15 items you must pack for a Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park resorts trip will have you ready in no time!   The key items for a successful water park trip to Williamsburg are; water shoes, brightly colored swim shirts, goggles, pool bag, MULTIPLE bathing suits, and a waterproof phone case to capture all of the fun memories that await!

Do I Need to Bring or Pack Towels?

No, Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg provides fresh towels for guests.  You scan your wristband to get the towels at the gift shop when entering the water park and then return the towels to get more.

Do I Need to Pack or Bring Life Jackets?

No, Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg provides life jackets for guests.   Life jackets are available throughout the water park for ease.

What are the Hours of the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park?

The hours may vary at each location but while we were at the Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg VA location the indoor water park hours were 9:00am to 8:00pm.  These hours may change during various times of the year, so I recommend checking the website!

Water Park Review: Great Wolf Lodge VA  Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Water Park.  The Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg Resort has so much to offer families and the indoor water park area is a huge draw for many visitors.

Ultimate Family Review Great Wolf Lodge  Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg is a 67,000-square-foot indoor water park that is an amazing attraction for families and kids of all ages.  Your family will spend a TON of time at the Great Wolf Lodge Indoor Water Park, so read my review here to have all of the details before you go.  Another portion of Great Wolf Lodge that my children absolutely loved was  Great Wolf Lodge Family MagiQuest. MagiQuest helps you fully immerse yourself in Vellara, the realm of imagination, as you help the Guardians to protect the Realm Portals. Along the way, befriend the Treetop Pixies, battle the evil dragon, Charlock, recover stolen jewels from the Goblin King, and earn the title of Master Magi. The MagiQuest game turns the hallways and walkways of the hotel into an interactive experience that will keep your child running, exploring and interacting with every hallway and piece of artwork and fixture on the wall and ceiling.

Are you planning a future visit to Great Wolf Lodge and wondering whether you should purchase a Wolf Pass, Paw Pass or Pup Pass for your child? Let me break down why buying a wolf pass at Great Wolf Lodge for your child is a great idea! We have visited Great Wolf Lodge twice as a family and we have purchased the Wolf Pass on our first visit and during our second visit to Great Wolf Lodge we purchased the Paw Pass and highly recommend purchasing these during your visit next time.

Has your family traveled to or visited Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg before?  If so, what was your favorite part of the trip?

Can I Go to the Water Park if I am not Staying at Great Wolf Lodge?

Yes, but you do need to purchase the day pass per person.

Is the Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg Day Pass Worth It?

If you have been to Great Wolf Lodge before and live close to the resort, I could see the day pass being helpful to celebrate something on a small scale.  It could be a great idea to have a day out for 1:1 with a child or as a reward.  However, I think for most guests that go for a guest pass end up spending money on food and other items around the Great Wolf Lodge resort for items that would be included with the room stay.  I definitely would recommend booking a stay at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg vs the day pass to get the entire experience that Great Wolf Lodge has to offer.

The Great Wolf Lodge Day Pass cost is 70$ per person and includes your entrance to the water park. Children 2 and under do not require a day pass.

Where is Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg Located?

Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg is located at 549 E Rochambeau Dr, Williamsburg, VA 23188.

Great Wolf Lodge is right off of the highway and very easy to get to. You are within close proximity to Walmart and other stores as well as many restaurants and the Williamsburg Outlets.  However, your family will not want to leave premises once you arrive at Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg.  I would definitely plan to stay on premises the entire time. If you are traveling to the area or making a road trip and have not been to Colonial Williamsburg before, be sure to plan on adding additional days at the end of your Great Wolf Lodge trip!  Busch Gardens Williamsburg is also very close and such a fun theme park for families, but I would not try to plan on doing this while at Great Wolf Lodge Wiliamsburg. Water Country USA is another nearby water park if your family wants to check out all of the water park options while in the Williamsburg, Virginia area!
