Park365 Richmond VA Best Playground

As a parent of 3 young and active boys in Richmond VA, we are always looking for playgrounds and outdoor spaces to burn off energy and Soar 365 is one of them!  With a large variety of activities for community members and school-aged kids to enjoy!  This Central Virginia public park is a great place to meet new friends, visit on field trips, and run and play!  

Park365 Richmond VA Best Playground by Soar365

PARK365 opened in 2015, offering a playground for “all ages and all abilities.” It is the first inclusive, accessible park in Central Virginia.  The Richmond community has loved PARK365 since opening day and it is such a joyful place to visit for an hour or all day. That is why in 2023, PARK365 was voted Best Community Playground. PARK365, formerly known as Arc park, is a one-of-a-kind accessible park experience for Central Virginia residents and visitors.  

PARK365 is a completely fenced playground with a gate and accessible park and play area for residents.  From sensory walls, music, water troughs and a huge accessible treehouse and much more - these special well thought out and planned play structures make Soar 365 a perfect location for meeting up with friends.

It is so much fun and such a safe place for everyone to come and experience fun and joy no matter your age or stage or abilities.  The entire park is laid out in a way that parents and caregivers can see multiple areas if you are bringing kids of various ages and abilities.

With more than two acres in Northside Richmond, PARK365 is a beloved gathering place for families and children in Richmond and the surrounding area. It’s known as a great place to host a birthday party, plan a playdate or shoot hoops with friends! But that’s not all that makes PARK365 important to our community.  

Specially designed to accommodate those with disabilities, PARK365 features an accessible treehouse, supportive swings, recycled rubber safety surfaces, creative and sensory play areas, and more. By focusing on inclusive fun for everyone, PARK365 allows children and adults with and without disabilities to play together, learn about each other, and build friendships.

There are lots of picnic tables that are great for packing lunches and enjoying with friends.  The picnic shelters are covered and shaded making it a great place to cool off even during hot summer days in Richmond, Virginia.

Where is PARK365 located?

Nestled right off of 95 this awesome city of richmond located is an accessible playground is easily accessible for Central Virginia.  The parking lot may get full at times on the weekends, but you can park across the street as well!  Visitors of all ages will love hearing the trains go by while playing.  It is the perfect spot to meet up with friends in an easy to get to location for all of Central Virginia!

Summer fun at PARK365

SOAR365 is teaming up with local nonprofits to offer a new Summer Series of inclusive fun. PARK365. Join community partners and other families for food trucks on site, a DJ and even a petting zoo on specific dates in the summer at PARK365. Admission is free but Soar365 does ask that you register.  Register yourself and share with friends by using this link.

I personally love visiting PARK365 most on the chilly days of fall and winter when it is less crowded.  There is very limited shade in the summer and it gets toasty with warm Virginia temperatures.  It is such a fun place to climb and play when its chilly! Bundle up and enjoy the sun while getting energy out.

SOAR365 is a Virginia non-profit created in 1954. The founding families dreamed of a better way to care for and support their loved ones with disabilities. Just like in 1954, there is still commitment to building a world where people with disabilities play, work, socialize and thrive as part of their local community. From first steps to first jobs, the wide range of programs at Soar265 help people with disabilities achieve their goals through various human services. 

Pediatric Therapy, Children & Youth Program,  Adult Day Support,  Employment Services,  Respite programs and respite services, employment opportunities, money management, custodial services, Summer Camp are just a few of the service options available to community members at Soar365.  The volunteers and staff at Soar365 help provide life-fulfilling opportunities for all abilities.

Funding for Soar365

PARK365 is free to visitors, but not to the nonprofit Soar 365. It costs a lot to run a free playground and park in Richmond, Virginia! If you’d like to keep the fun going and provide a place where everyone can play, please make a donation at soar365.org/donate to help the Richmond community have PARK365 as a space to enjoy for years to come. Community partners and volunteers are integral to keeping Soar 365 and Park365 a vital part of the Richmond child development services and investment in adults with physical disability too.
